Day 1 Tues, Oct 10 - TRANS-ATLANTIC FLIGHT

Depart from New York/LAX aboard Delta Airlines at 7:30p for an overnight trans-Atlantic flight to Barcelona

Day 2, Wed, Oct 11 - BARCELONA

Meet and greet, transfer to hotel. Afternoon Panoramic Bus tour plus lunch - highlights include: La Sagrada Familia, Panoramic view of Barcelona from Montjuïc hill, Drive through the Eixample, Barcelona’s modernist center, Walking tour of Barcelona’s Gothic Quarter, including the 2,000-year-old Roman temple., finish at Las Ramblas shopping area. (L)

Day 3, Thurs Oct 12 - BARCELONA

After breakfast Continue to nearby Catalonia’s Montserrat head to the top of this rugged mountain to see its main attraction, La Morneta–the Virgin of Montserrat. Enjoy amazing views. Continue to La Roca Shopping outlet (L)

Day 4, Fri, Oct 13 - BARCELONA

At leisure to explore on your own (B)

Day 5, Sat, OCT 14 - MADRID

After breakfast transfer to Rail Station for the fast train to Madrid. Morning arrival in Madrid. Meet and greet and transfer to Emperado hotel. Escorted sightseeing tour will allow you to get a glimpse of some of Madrid’s most outstanding attractions, including the Campo del Moro, the Templo de Debod, Puerta del Sol, the stately Alcala Gate, After lunch, visit the Museum of the Americas (with the emphasis on the African Presence in the Art of the Spanish Colonies of the Americas (including the Casta Paintings) Hotel Emperador Gran Vía, 53, 28013 Madrid +34 915 47 28 00 (B/L)

Day 6, Sun Oct 15 - MADRID

After breakfast shopping at Salamanca District, and Calle. Return to Gran Via for morebargains (B)

Day 7: Mon, Oct 16 - MADRID-MERIDA-SEVILLE

Buffet breakfast. Journey south through the once remote region of Extremadura. Arrival in ancient Merida,lunch and then an afternoon visit to the impressive Roman amphitheatre archeological site before continuing to Seville—one of the early capitals of Moorish Spain. During the journey Tour Director will discuss the African Presence in Spain, Rome and the Ancient Meditteranean World. Overnight Seville. Day 8, Tues, Oct 17 - SEVILLE

Buffet breakfast. This morning’s tour of the “Pearl of Andalucia” will explore this gracious city, Spain’s third largest. See the Tower of Gold, the tranquil and extensive Maria Luisa Park, the quaint Santa Cruz Quarter, and finally the huge cathedral (one of the largest in the world) with its Giralda Tower (a former minaret). Time for lunch. The afternoon is free to continue to explore or shop. Overnight

Day 9, Wed, Oct 18 - SEVILLE-CORDOBA-SEVILLE

Buffet breakfast. Depart to Cordoba. Visit one of the world’s marvels, the former Great Mosque (now a cathedral). Time for lunch and souvenir hunting. Afterwards return to Seville, overnight

Day 10, Thur, Oct 19 - SEVILLE- GRANADA

AlhambraAfter breakfast leave to Granada, passing thousands of acres of olive groves. During the journey Tour Director will discuss the History of the Moors in Spain. This evening, visit the quaint and typical Albaicin Quarter for an illuminated Alhambra; where Andalusian customs, music and wine join to create an enchanting atmosphere. This morning, enjoy an escorted tour of the amazing Moorish palace and fortress complex of the Alhambra and the verdant Gardens of the Generalife. Return to Granada for shopping

Day 11, Fri, Oct 20 - GRANADA

Day at leisure to explore the shopping districts of Granada. Take in a Flamenco show in the evening

Day 12, Sat, Oct 21 - GRANADA-MALAGA-GRANADA

After breakfast drive to Malaga. Afternoon city tour; start with a visit to the Cathedral of Malaga, constructed between 1528 and 1782 and nicknamed La Manquita (the One-Armed Lady) because one of the cathedral two towers is unfinished. Continue to the Alcazaba, a Moorish fortress built in the 11th century. Perched on a hill in the middle of town, the Alcazaba is one of the best-preserved citadels in Spain. Rest of day shopping and return to Granada in the evening

Day 13, Oct 22 - MALAGA-NEW YORK

After breakfast transfer to airport for your Delta Airlines flight leaving at 1:20 pm and arriving at JFK the same day at 3:50 PM
